We learned the hard way that Stearns & Foster mattresses are made by Sealy mattress company and have fancy tops. The Inner spring support system in our mattress failed (collapsed) after 2 year anniversary of purchase date, so the pillow top and fancy covering was all useless. The warranty process worked in a way so we thank the company for not leaving us totally of luck. BUT, please read on about how the warranty went for us: it took 3 months, we had to fill out 3 separate forms ( first online, then 2 separate paper forms via US Mail), we were forced to submit high quality photos, and we were forced to have a mattress inspector come into our bedroom of our home during business hours. Then the official mattress inspector cancelled on us two times after I already took off work for the day; the constant work schedule changes drove my boss crazy. Reasons for the inspector cancellations were unbelievable; the company said it involved economics and fuel costs so they can't have drivers come out to only one house for the day; they need some minimum number of home visits per day. The second time, they called to change the schedule on us because the inspector has to do the scheduled homes in the most fuel efficient order so they needed to change our appointment at the last minute. We had to sleep on an air mattress for 3 months because mattress was so useless and REALLY hurt our backs. Getting prorated credit for our mattress at the same store we bought it ( so we could get something else) and having to pay $89 for removal of the defective mattress has not made up for the hell we experienced due to poor craftsmanship and a company's lack of quality control. I love honest helpful reviews, so I have tried to create one and waited to post this one after our experience was finally over.
